Rallying is different things to different people. For some, it's about the winning. For others,
maybe it's the adrenaline rush, the prepping of the car, the competing or even the sportmanship.
Some people maybe even do it for the 'fame'. Here at GID headquarters, we do it for fun - and the rallying too. Make no mistake about it - we have no aspirations for WRC supremacy (well, not yet, anyway). There is no million-dollar 3-year deal waiting round the corner. We get up at four in the morning, trapse around a wet miserable corner of England getting cold and wet, pour our hard-earned cash into a white piece of metal with four wheels and return home on the night knackered, skint but (hopefully!) knowing we had a good time doing it.
The Name... By an even stranger twist of fate (as we coined the name before we even sorted out a car) it turns out that the Peugeot 205 we now run has a bit of Simmonite history. It turns out that the Simmonites ran a 205 which they later sold on. It eventually found it's way into the hands of a chap called Dave Andrews who consequenty rolled it end over end on his first event, giving it a thoroughly good trashing on the way. It was at this point another buyer purchased it to transplant some of the bits into a fresh new shell, and hence was born the current incarnation of B135 SUA. So while it's a bit unfair to say it's a complete ex-Simmonite car, there are certainly traces of the original car in there (although the seats were a bit tatty so we ditched them - sorry girls!)
