GID Rallying
Who?
Sponsors
Alan & Erik West of AAT have been instrumental in getting GID up and running, both in terms of products and advice to the crew. Both avid members of Streetly Motor Club, they have dedicated more of their time to helping us out than would seem fair. Even under constant e-mail hassling, Erik hasn't waned one bit - guys, we are in your debt, thankyou!
Andy Baker at AB Motorsport is a competitor himself, running a 205 in tarmac events. A keen Peugeot specialist, Andy knows down to the detail exactly what makes a solid, reliable and competitive 205 rally car. Focusing on competition preparation and servicing, he's a man who takes great pride in doing things right. He runs several cars for other competitors and there's many a 205 Challenge crew who will atest to his skills - both under the bonnet and behind the wheel!
A recent addition to our list, Paul Bunch has been a name we came across several times in the 2002 season. Steadily building a name for himself amongst motorsport photographers, Paul recently set up Perspective-i, a new company focusing on quality professional photography - in particular, motorsport. Perspective-i already cater for InGear Motorsport Magazine and will, I'm sure, continue to build a healthy client base. Many thanks to Perspective-i for their support and contributions to the website (various photographs).
Kustom PCsNew for 2008 is our IT sponsor, Kustom PCs. Graeme and the boys have always been good to us on the PC front, supplying us with technological goodies to keep our PCs running tip-top and speedy. Kustom offer a wide variety of specialised, high-end computing goodies and gadget, and are reknowned in the community for their excellent customer care and service.
? Interested in sponsoring us? Well, the age old question is "What's in it for me?" (ie.you) and the answer is, let's be honest, not a massive amount. You get an appropriately sized portion of the car onto which you can sticker some company advertising, which will be seen by a massive amount of club-level rally competitors and pretty much bugger all public exposure, due to the nature of club-level rallying in the UK. In return we can offer you the chance to come along and 'experience' club level rallying with us - which means you pay all that cash to get up at 4am on a cold Sunday morning and follow us to some remote corner of England in the pissing rain to swap wheels and tyres all day... but hey, if that's your kind of fun day out then all the better! We could also arrange some sort of promotional day out for your company, using the car as a basis for some entertainment (track day, etc).

Seriously, though, organisations involved in motorsport and rallying in some way obviously benefit from sponsorship more than others... our ears are open but our expectations are realistic!

Special Thanks
Very special thanks must go to the following companies and individuals who, in no specific order, have contributed to the team in so many ways. To you all - we couldn't have done it without you; THANKYOU

  • Tony Huggins (Logo)
Tony works as a freelance graphic artist and was kind enough to come up with the screaming green nutter that makes our logo... Tony has done work for various high-profile magazines and he's just a general all-round top bloke. If you'd like to get in touch with him you can contact him at the following address - please remove the letters "GID" from his email address, this is to stop automatic spam generators picking his address up off our web page.

  • George Cooke (Advice and Assistance)
George Cooke is the main man behind Tomsport, a small privately funded rally team based in the UK. A fellow Streetly Motor Club member and Heart of England Championship contender, Tomsport and GID generally attend the same rallies and service together to make life easier. George has been competing in his unique Peugeot 309 GTi 16v for several years now, and has a wealth of experience in rallying at both clubman and international level. His advice, enthusiasm and hands-on assistance to Little Dan has been invaluable - and the gearbox he built hasn't blown up yet!!
