Towing the rally car to events is Big Dan and his little Freelander. Yes, it's a 1.8 GS but it does an admirable job of pulling the car and trailer along at semi-sensible speeds. We're waiting for Big Dan to upgrade to a new Discovery TD5 but in the meantime he's happy to muck in with his everyday car, the Freelander.

Big Dan is notorious as being a bit of a kid when it comes to yellow flashing lights. I mean he really needs help. There's not too many people out there who get all excited and sweaty-palmed at the sight of a full-width roof bar with quad contra-rotating lenses, twin strobe repeaters and optional side-facing spot light modules.... yawn.... but he loves 'em and it makes him feel special when he's doing his stage commander routines at the Network Q every year. Hey, he's a manager remember, he needs to feel important. He needs that command over lesser mortals. | |
